Privacy policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
whoa.day shows one fact a day on this website and in the whoa.day iPhone app. We built both to work without knowing who you are. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
The iPhone app
The app does not collect any personal information.
- Your streak, visit history and reminder time are stored only on your device. They are never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Daily reminders are scheduled on your iPhone itself. We don't run a notification server, and you can turn reminders off in the app or in your iPhone's Settings.
- New facts are downloaded from whoa.day. That request contains no information about you beyond what any connection to a website includes, like your IP address, which our hosting provider handles as described below.
- Source links open in your web browser, where that website's own privacy policy applies.
This website
- Your streak and the "seen" marks in the archive are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.
- We don't use cookies, analytics trackers or advertising.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers to fetch them. Google's privacy policy applies to that request.
- Email updates: if you sign up for the daily email, your address goes to the email service that sends it and is used only for that email. Every message has a link to unsubscribe.
Hosting
The website and the fact list the app downloads are served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We don't use that information to identify you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Children
whoa.day is suitable for all ages, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
